Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a young girl of just five her family moved to Oxfordshire and went to her first Dragon School. From the age of six Emma knew that she was going to become an actor and for several years, she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied dance and acting. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was the film of 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent through their Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after seven auditions that she'd been selected for the roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It was also the most popular film of 2001. Opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. Many critics have praised the film, as well as the performances given by three of the main young actors. The widely distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance "awesome. Emma's performance received nominations and received five awards for the movie.
